Hello, Ocean Community!
DAOs have been capturing the crypto zeitgeist over the last two quarters at record speed. As the term DAO becomes commonplace in the blockchain-verse, it is incredible that we, as an OceanDAO community, are at the forefront of these novel coordination experiments.
With the shared goal of leading Ocean Protocol down the path of self-sustainability, the quality and the turnout in OceanDAO Round 7 has been tremendous. Round 7 saw the most proposals submitted to date! This turnout comes as no surprise to our active community who have been continually collaborating on discord and engaging in our weekly Ocean Town Hall calls.

The goal is to grow the DAO each round. We encourage the Ocean ecosystem to apply or re-apply AND to vote! Thank you to all of the participants, voters, and proposers.

Round 7 Rules
Proposals with 50% or more “Yes” Votes received a grant until the “Total Round Funding Available” is depleted in descending number of votes received order.
35% of “Total Round Funding Available” was earmarked for New Projects. Earmarked proposals were eligible for entire “Total Round Funding Available”; returning (general) grants were eligible for 65%.
The grant proposals from the snapshot ballot that met these criteria were selected to receive their $OCEAN Amount Requested to foster positive value creation for the overall Ocean ecosystem.

- 21,792,403.71 $OCEAN Tokens voted across all proposals

Earmarked Grants
DataX is a decentralized exchange dedicated to trading datasets in Ocean Market. The vision is for the project to be a pioneer of the Data Data movement and kickstart adoption to a new data economy led by Ocean Protocol.
Nano Sensor Powered Smart Cities will onboard and establish a new dataset on the OCEAN marketplace with regular input and up-date from nanosensors in the urban landscape to measure out hidden asset layers and enable predictive maintenance.
Onshore OCEAN proposes creating a data science-centric community within Ocean Protocol. The initial focus is on building a landing page with PoC Jupyter Notebooks for exploratory data analysis & training simple deep learning models using Ocean.
Local Network Egress Traffic aims to aid in the adoption of Compute-to-Data functionality for small programming teams & entry-level/junior programmers with complimentary documentation featuring clear coding samples that can be used as a template.
oceanSPICE Simulations creates a web solution to simulate the creation and economy of data assets with dynamic pricing on Ocean Protocol marketplaces via TokenSpice in the backend.
Cluster Finance aims to be a toolkit for developers around the world to easily build data-centric apps like data unions and social networks on Ocean Protocol.
